Being raised on a diversified livestock and crop operation, I established a passion and desire for agriculture at an early age. Throughout my years in 4-H and FFA, I successfully showed steers and hogs. In my early teens, I began Gill’s Durocs, breeding competitive purebred show pigs. In these years I developed an extreme desire in evaluating livestock which led to my success at multiple livestock judging contests. A member of the 1995 PA State FFA Livestock judging team, I finished 3rd individually at the state contest and continued my success at the National level finishing in the top 1/3 of individual contestants. After college I began Double G Show Cattle in PA, established myself as a custom fitter and clipper, and had the opportunity to travel and teach many young cattle producers every aspect of the show world. I had successfully bred many champion fair steers and also a few state fair division winners.
A graduate of Virginia Tech with an Associates of Animal Science and later graduated from Albright College in Reading, PA with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, in which I currently work as a tax accountant specializing in individual, small business and agriculture taxation.

Whether in the show ring or out, teaching is a great passion of mine. Our youth livestock producers need as much guidance to help them be successful and continue the future of our livestock industries.
Presently, in my free time I volunteer as a livestock judging coach for Dauphin County, PA 4-H Livestock club and mentor many youth showman with their cattle and hog projects. Over the past five years, I have hosted clipping and fitting clinics and had the opportunity to judge livestock shows in PA, MD, WV, VA, NY, CT, and DE.

My wife, April, and I with our two foster children, breed Simmental Cattle and Club Calves on our farm in Newport, PA.
