Bill is a third generation cattleman from Shelby County, IN.  His family has been raising registered seedstock for nearly 70 years.  He has been showing cattle for 25 years and his farm exhibits all across the US and Canada.  The farm markets show animals across the Midwest with an emphasis on 4-H projects. 

Bill was a 10 year 4-H member and received his Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from Purdue University.  While at Purdue, he was a member of the Livestock Judging Team.  Bill then went to the University of Kentucky for a Masters of Science in Ruminant Nutrition.  Bill was the coach of the Kentucky Livestock Judging Team for 2 years.

Bill worked in Academic Extension as a livestock specialist for 7 years being located at Ohio State, the University of Missouri, and more recently Purdue University.  Bill is currently CEO of River Bend Farms, an Adjunct Agriculture Professor for Ivy Tech Community College in Columbus, Indiana and serves as the Livestock Nutritional Consultant for Greensburg Soy Processors, LLC.

Bill judges all species of livestock.  He has judged over 100 shows in 8 states and in Canada.  Some of the more recent larger shows have included the North American International Livestock Exposition (2012), Indiana State Fair (2011, 2013), Kentucky State Fair (2006, 2012), Ohio Beef Expo (2012), Kentucky Beef Expo (2011), Sioux Falls, SD Empire Fair (2013), Southeastern Regional Hereford Show (2011), and Tri-State Elite Show (2010)
