From West Manchester, Ohio I was raised in the Hereford industry. My family raised and exhibited Hereford cattle all over the country. I have also been involved with Club Calf and Shorthorn cattle for many years. I have exhibited cattle in 11 states on every level including numerous national shows such as the N.A.I.L.E , National Western, Ft. Worth and Shorthorn & Hereford Jr. Nationals.
I like functional cattle. Structurally correct, feminine females that still carry an abundance of power and performance. In the steer ring, I look for power, structure and overall cut ability and carcass scoring when those cattle go to the rail.
I recently graduated with my B.S. in Animal Science from Morehead State University. I was extremely active in 4-H and FFA competing on all levels of competitions. I have won public speaking awards and strongly support the future of agriculture.
I am currently the Herd Manager at Double J Ranch/ Jeepetta Cattle Company in Chickasha, Oklahoma where we run approximately 200 head of Shorthorn cattle, exhibit at numerous national Shorthorn shows as well as host our own Production Sale, the Shorthorn 500 in late October each year.
I firmly believe in ethics in the show ring and encourage youth participation. The youth are a very important part of the beef cattle industry, they are the future. I enjoy working with kids and I take advantage of learning opportunities in the show ring.
